Deck Installation

To begin the deck construction process, your outdoor area needs to be prepared in advance. Clear away any items or clutter from your backyard so that our team can immediately access the space they need. Additionally, we will ensure that the soil is properly prepped and leveled before beginning any work, as well as examine for any potential underground hindrances that may impede the progress of building your deck.

The next step is for us to start digging holes where the deck posts will be placed. Piers will be installed to transfer the deck’s weight into the soil, while footings will spread the deck’s weight out over the soil. After the posts are secured to the post base, concrete will be poured around them to ensure a reliable foundation.

Once the base is set and the posts and beams are properly installed, we’ll start building out your deck frame. We do this by attaching rim joists to the beam faces, installing the boards, and adding fasteners to these joists. Angle brackets may be required, to keep your deck well-supported and sturdy. To create a neat, even line, the decking boards will be trimmed to remove any jagged edges.

If a platform is not close to the ground, then building codes often mandate that you construct stairs and railings. This intricate process requires posts, rails, and balusters, all of which can be customized to reflect your unique style.
